Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for chocolate truffles:

Chocolate Truffles Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Dark Chocolate: 200g (chopped, preferably 60-70% cocoa)
  • Heavy Cream: 100ml (about 1/2 cup)
  • Butter: 1 tablespoon (optional, for extra richness)
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Cocoa Powder: for rolling
  • Chopped Nuts, Sprinkles, or Coconut: for rolling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chocolate:

    • Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat the Cream:

    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat.
  3. Combine:

    • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes to soften the chocolate.
    • Add the butter and vanilla extract (if using). Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  4. Chill:

    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate mixture is firm enough to handle.
  5. Shape the Truffles:

    • Once the mixture is firm, use a small scoop or your hands to form balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Roll in Coating:

    • Roll each truffle in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut until fully coated.
  7. Chill Again:

    • Return the truffles to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up again.
  8. Serve:

    • Enjoy your chocolate truffles chilled or at room temperature. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Tips:

  • For different flavors, you can infuse the cream with coffee, orange zest, or spices before mixing with the chocolate.
  • You can also dip the truffles in melted chocolate for a smooth coating.

Enjoy your homemade chocolate truffles!
